To be honest. I am pretty picky and eclectic about the music i enjoy. But i do love covers of my old fav songs. And this is why this has got me thinking.

out of no where a kid comes onto the show and blow viewers out of their chairs. She is charismatic, gifted, and full of potential and each person watching sees something a little bit different. I was struggling at the time and I am like of course a child doesn’t know who they are, but why does and adult 3 times her age do the Same? I feel like people saw in her the potential they wanted to see in themselves or their kids. In the end of it as she wins the show people love to watch people with hopes and dreams succeed. She was a success.

How is it going right now? : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Xu59lwe5fy8

Now, many years later she popped up on my feed. Now that is not to say she is not doing great but she is not typically the genera of music i listen to. But instead I think back of my feelings back then and all her potential. I would assume she is the next Taylor Swift? I found a lot of disparaging articles and commentaries on this young woman’s life then i found the good one. It was actually her. It was her replying to her critics. Well it seems that America loves their Disney stars because they all fit into a nice little box; cute, sweet, innocent. Something young girls aspire to be, Young boys have a crush, and Something Parents can wish their children were like.

But Guess what happens when you take a young woman with intelligence, looks, and Potential and then you and a heavy serving of confidence, self reliance, and grace ? Well it looks like you get a woman who finds her way despite the guidance of her managers and directors and despite her critics she grows to be the real authentic individual she is now.

I think it is pretty critical as a parent when you kids hit the age of 18 ( of when ever they decide to be an adult) to determine the trajectory of their life. This week I penned two letters to my Sons for an Xmas Gift. I told them and explained to them my views and philosophies ( briefly) on why I am more hands off now and what they need to do to tell me when they need something. Whenever I talk to young people it is either I wish my parents would have been more hands off. Please don’t get me wrong. I do believe in helicopter parenting, but that has to stop at 10.

Now When are older you got to let them be
